Zarahi Lara is a 26-year-old freelance makeup artist and Founder of LA Blush. Born in Zacatecas, Mexico, Zarahi moved to the San Francisco Bay Area at the age of 9.
Zarahi’s interest in makeup and beauty products stems back to childhood. As a young girl, Zarahi’s first favorite beauty product was Lip Smackers lip gloss. As she soon discovered the multitude of brands that carried lip gloss, her love for makeup grew to brands like L’Oreal and MAC.
In 2008, Zarahi moved to Los Angeles where her passion for makeup grew into a career. She attended the Napoleon Perdis Makeup Academy and received insight on makeup tips and beauty secrets. She was mentored by well-known celebrity makeup artist Adrian Villa, who she attributes as her inspiration to becoming a makeup artist.
Since graduating the academy, Zarahi has worked on several photo shoots, alongside Napoleon Perdis, Adrian Villa and other successful makeup artists and photographers.
Currently, Zarahi owns a wealth of makeup products, from well-known prestige brands to everyday drug store selections. She has a keen eye for using products tailored to her client’s silhouette and is a trusted expert in recommending products ranging from primers and foundations to eye shadows and lipsticks.
Zarahi strongly agrees that makeup is an art. It's true that some people view makeup as being "superficial," but she rather think it is a means of true self-expression. She quotes Nicolas Degennes Givenchy as saying, “Makeup is freedom... freedom to become whoever you want to be in that moment... to experiment... to create... to express.”
Through LA Blush, Zarahi aims to share makeup tips and product suggestions, to show how you can use makeup to achieve the full and flawless effects like a real pro!
