New love: Glamour Doll Eyes

I recently came across this cute site for eyeshadows, Glamour doll eyes.
First thing i LOVED they sell sample sizes (bag$1.25 & jar $2.50) .
I'm so happy I found the site, because their pigments are amazing, and they have some crazy bright colors, i love fun colors.



Yesterday I tried:
Picture Whore (a metallic pink w/ black undertones)
Juicy Mango (a shimmery orange which has a pink shimmer when rubbed down)
Ladies night (a shimmery black)
Lovers Lane ( deep metallic red)



My favorites would have to be Picture whore & ladies night, although i love the juicy mango i honestly thought it was going to be a bit more peachy. the colors blended well, and stayed on all night.

I love seen makeovers, it interesting how people change through out the years, specially when it comes to makeup. You ever look back & think wow what was I thinking wearing that?(i have a few of those)

Ombré lips: love em or hate em?

Now, I'm sure we've all seen & fallen in love with ombre nails & hair (which i love on Khloe K).
well Ombre lips are just as fab. Ombre is a french term, it means shaded. so from darkest to lightest, I decided to try the lips, I love a soft look & bold lips (& with football season just around the corner) I decided to use a bright red & gold. (49ers colors).
You can also use pinks, purples, the combinations are endless & so much fun.

How to get the Ombre lips:
This is a two tone look in which you start with a darker shade around the rim of your lips (this helps add definition) & a softer lighter shade in the center. (this helps create the effect of full juicy lips).

You can also start with a darker color at the top lip and blend it with a lighter color all the way to your bottom lip to a softer color.

DIY: color lipgloss

I love lipglosses, and sometimes I want a color I either can't find or don't have time to go search for. So here is an easy way to make your own color lipgloss.



All you need is :
1.A small container
2. Clear lipgloss I'm a tube
3. Eyeshadow
[ preferably a loose dust]
4. A small brush or toothpick


Put the lipgloss in the container then add the eyeshadow & mix, make sure not to add to much eyeshadow so that it's not super thick. It's easy & fun!

DIY: Lip Scrubs

I love lip scrubs and how easy it is to make at home, they make your lips super soft! (& who doesn't want that)

here are 3 easy lip scrub recipes.

1. mix 1 Table spoon  of Vaseline & 1 tea spoon of sea salt for a quick scrub! 

2. 1 table spoon of coconut oil, 1 tea spoon of honey & 2 teaspoons of brown sugar

3. 1. table spoons of vaseline , 2 tea spoon of brown sugar & 1 tea spoon of honey

you can mix and match with these ingredients, trust me you wont regret it <3

 

Vaseline a beauty must

The magic of Vaseline, I’m sure everyone has a jar of Vaseline at home, we use it when we dye our hair or get a new tattoo, well
Vaseline is like a magical must have in your bathroom, here are a few ways you can use Vaseline.

15 uses of Vaseline

1.A lip scrub: put Vaseline on your lips, leave it a few minutes, then scrub your lips with a toothbrush to exfoliate.(your lips will be so soft)
2.Makeup remover, it even removes false eyelash glue from your lash line w/ out a hassle.
3. Makeup stain on your favorite top? – rub some on the spot and wash
4. Rub Vaseline on your cuticles a few times a day for softer cuticles
5.soft feet- Put a coat of Vaseline on your feet at night, cover them with socks and wake up to softer feet ( I LOVE THIS)
6.Longer,thicker lashes-Put a coat on your eyelashes before you go to bed, every night.
7.Mix with sea salts to make a scrub
8.Mix with brown sugar for a soft brown sugar scrub
9.mix it with lipstick to create a cream blusher for your cheeks
10. Flavored lipgloss- mix some with Kool Aid
11. Perfume scent will last longer when you apply vaseline at perfume points before spritzing the perfume.
12.use on your lips to help with chapped lips
13.Give your eyes a shiny effect by applying under your eyeshadow
14.Use it on your cheeks to give you that dewy look (great for photo shoots)
15.Moisturizes severe dry skin (apply on your knees & elbows to prevent that extra dry look & feel)

Eyebrows: Do's & Dont's

One of my biggest pet peeves are not well kept eyebrows, the first thing I notice when I see someone is their eyebrows because they dramatically change your look & enhance your features if done properly.

So here are a few Do's && Dont's for your eyebrows ( & I had to include pics!)










Do:

*Get your eyebrows waxed/ threaded and shaped by a professional ( I personally get my threaded && i love it)

*Have your eyebrows shaped according to your brow bone ( Eyebrows should fit your face)

*Fill in the blanks (Powder works best on oily skins and pencil on more mature or drier skins)

*groom your eyebrows daily. (try plucking after a hot shower)














Dont:

* Use eyeliner to draw in your eyebrows

*Dye your own eyebrows (see a proffesional)

*Do not pick a pair of eyebrows from a celebrity or magazine.

*Shave off your eyebrows ( I dont even know what to say about this)

Do you Blow dry or Air dry your hair?

I prefer to air dry my hair unless I am in a hurry.
Both methods of drying the hair have their advantages & disadvantages, and there are proper and improper ways of doing both.
Blow drying the hair is the most cont way of doing it, and since most of us don't have much time to do it in the morning,it is the prefer method. When you blow dry your hair you can also add volume to the hair. Blow drying is convenient but also dangerous to your hair when over done since it can make your hair very brittle.

- When you blow dry your hair make sure its not soaking. ( blot the H20 out with a towel first)
- Do not hold the dryer too close to your head.
- Keep it at least 6 inches from your hair & move the dryer constantly around your head.
-Protect the outer strands of your hair from being over- dried by blow drying your hair with your hair hanging upside down.
Air drying is usually done by people who have short or low-maintenance hairstyles, or by people with curly hair.(like me!) air drying does not subject the hair to excessive heat. Therefore, the hair is not as susceptible to damage as hair that is blow dried.
-your hair is at its weakest when wet, so do not rub your hair dry with a towel, blot. friction caused by rubbing the hair with a towel will make the hair brittle & cause it to break
-be careful not to tug or pull at your hair that much when it is still wet.
-Once the water is blotted out of the hair, fluff it out with your fingers.





So it is completely your choice based on your own lifestyle and preferences whether you choose to air dry or blow dry.

just remember that your hair is fragile so be careful when handling it!

Wine, good for your skin?

I love a good glass of wine.
A study found that a glass of wine a day keeps the skin glowing & reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
This applies to red wines only, the darker the wine the better.
Red wine is full of antioxidants that come from the grapes, (unlike grape juice, wine is made with the skin& seeds also)
The antioxidants help soak up free radicals that cause wrinkles, fine lines & age-related diseases.
Red wine also lowers the risk of developing Alzheimer's disease by 80% .
Also a study shows that wine drinkers tend to have less stress in their lives.

Now this applies to one glass a day not one bottle a day,
if you are drinking more than recommended you will have the opposite effect on your skin & your health, & no one wants that.
So pick up a bottle of Merlot, Pinot noir or whatever your lil heart desirers & enjoy.
